2nd anniversary

Hi dear readers,

Today is the second anniversary of this site. I want to thank you all for the support and the wonderful comments of these past two years. I am lacking in many aspect regarding translating and have received many complaints about my use of too many Chinese terms. I thank you for going through with it. I’m working on bettering my translating skills and hope that in the future I can provide better projects.  It’s been fun blogging and translating novels. I hope I’ll still be doing this after ten years or more, if you guys don’t get tired of me ;P.

To celebrate, I will be translating snippets from novels you like. You can send me a snippet of any novel you like at rosydreamer1314@gmail.com. It must not exceed 400 Chinese letters. I will only translate the first ten snippets. I will be translating them during these two weeks.

Have a nice day,

Dreamer

  • Congrats on your second Anniversary. I most definitely look forward to reading your project translations. As for those Chinese terms you use a lot, once I got comfortable with them and managed to watch some movies scenes that use those words, I was really happy that I learned some new words. I don't speak or read Chinese at all, so learning some new words related to my favorite action/fantasy series feels liberating.

  • Congratulations!
    I love your translations and you include just the right amount of Chinese terms. Some of them really give an extra layer of meaning that doesn't have a direct English translation.
    Good luck with the next ten years, and thank you for your time and hard work.

  • Yeh! Happy aniversary and thanks for everyone's hard work translating, QC-ing, and editing these past 2 years! 🎂

    Heheh, I know it's sorta late but better late than never, right? *wink*

    I want to say, I'm really fortunate that I found your site when I was looking for good novels to read 😊 I really like how the story flow, how it was presented to english. I don't mind many chinese words on it, I think it's better to use it to make it more have an authentic feel. You know, just like how the equivalent english of some chinese words doesn't sound right or fit right in a novel so it's better to use the original term.

    btw, no pressure. just let us know if it's too much, what's happening around or in any of the projects will be much appreciated.

    Anyway, I also hope to read more of your selected projects and look forward to your works in many more years to come!

    Congratulations Rosyfantasy! 🎉

  • Hi, I am really enjoying reading Demon King’s Gold Medal Status Favorite Concubine by La Mi Tu on your website. I'm up to Chapter 60 so far.

    Once I'm caught up to the latest chapter, I'll donate via PayPal.

    However, I wanted to make a suggestion. To a non Chinese reader, the many chinese terms are overwhelming, especially the full names and multiple royal "I" pronouns.

    A chinese term has no meaning, but if your translate it, then it has meaning and I can remember that word 60 chapters later. Too many of the Chinese names sound similar, especially when you use all 3 characters and use their surnames every time.

    Instead of ______ = how about using descriptors to remember the characters after they are introduced the first time, like Longze Yu Er (Princess Yu), then use Princess Yu afterwards.

    Aijia / Bengong / Benwang / Qieshen / Zhen / Chennu = I

    Wangye = Your Highness / His Highness / Prince

    Wangfei = Princess Consort or Noble Consort

    Cefei = Side Consort

    Niangniang = My ladies

    Wangfu = Royal Palace

    Du Xian Er = Sweet Poison Fairy

    Longze Yu Er = Princess Yu

    Longze Jing Tian = Prince Jing

    Longze Yu = The Emperor

    Murong Tai = Prime Minster Murong

    Murong Xue Lian = Royal Consort Murong

    Murong Qi Qi = Qi Qi

    Murong Jun = Young Master Murong

    Murong Xin Lian = Miss Xin Murong

    Murong Qing Lian = Miss Qing Murong

    Duanmu Yi Yi = Royal Consort Duanmu

    Duanmu Qing = Miss Duanmu

    Bai Mu Fei is = Young Master Bai

    Bai Yi Yue = Miss Bai

    Li Lun Qing = Young Master Li

    Li Qiu Shui = Madame Li

    Gongzhi = Young Master

    Yuan = Courtyard / Pavilion

    Fei Cui - Maid Feng

    Feng Yu = Lady Tutor Yu

    Feng Cang = Prince Feng

    Shangguan Fei Yan = Empress Dowager Shangguan

    Shangguan Wu Ji = Young Master Shangguan

    Tong Bao Zhai = (Whatever the translation is, like White Pearl Store or something)

    Long Hu Ling = Li Command Token
