I married an exasperating eunuch Chapter 83 part 2

Chapter 83 The prayer ceremony (2)

Princess Yatai lowered her head and prostrated deeply on the ground. Chen Hui also recovered from the shocking dance of just now and put the wreath on princess Yatai’s head. She was about to withdraw her hand when princess Yatai grabbed her hand, gently kissed her fingertips with a pious gesture. Princess Yatai prostrated once again, which was a complete surrender.

Loud shouts erupted from below the altar. The shouts gradually became neat and there was enough vigor in the shouts. Even the earth was trembling.

At the edge of the crowd, someone seemed to stay out of it. He only looked shocked at the scene on the altar. Until when he became aware that this was not appropriate, did he quickly lower his head.

This person is Gu Tianhe who tried his best to sneak in. When he found that there seemed to be some kind of celebrations in the Xi tribe, he thought that this was his luck. However, he searched for a long time and couldn’t find a trace of Lady Chen. Only a few soldiers who were captured at the same time as Lady Chen could be seen. He guessed that Lady Chen had perhaps encountered a mishap. However, he was issued an order; he wouldn’t give up easily. So, he planned to go look again. Who knew that only then was he shocked to discover that the woman on the altar dressed as the Xi ethnicity turned out to be Lady Chen?

From what Lord Li said to him before he left, Gu Tianhe could easily understand how important Lady Chen is to Lord Li now. It was he (GT) who had got Lady Chen into Li residence. He also saw how Lord Li disliked Lady Chen in the past. He never expected that she would become so important to Lord Li one day. Perhaps, it wasn’t unexpected. It was just that he didn’t expect that it would be so fast.

Because Lady Chen’s face was painted with oil paint now, he looked for a long time before he confirmed that it was her. However, her bare fair arms and legs made him afraid to look at her. If Lord Li learns that Lady Chen has been subjected to such an insult in the Xi clan, he doesn’t know how angry Lord Li would be…

The task he was given was to investigate Lady Chen’s situation. It would be best if she could be rescued. If he couldn’t rescue her, he had to go back and report her situation.

He shouted like the Xi people around him and hibernated calmly like a hunter of nature, waiting for the fortunate timing.

The shouts that made the earth trembled slowly stopped after a while. Princess Yatai had already gotten up. She gave Chen Hui a smile and motioned for her to step down with her.

“Good job,” Princess Yatai gently praised as she helped Chen Hui down the altar.

Chen Hui smiled shyly. She just stood there stupidly and did nothing.

“Is the ceremony over,” She asked.

Princess Yatai said smilingly, “Almost.”

Almost?

Before Chen Hui could ask, she suddenly felt a heat behind her. The altar was actually on fire!

There was a pile of flammable dry plants which burst into flames as soon as they were ignited, turning into an oversized bonfire.

“Come and dance!” Princess Yatai smiled and took Chen Hui’s hand. She turned Chen Hui around and then sent her out and let go of her hand.

Chen Hui exclaimed. She thought that she would stagger and fall, but someone happened to grab her hand, turn a few circles with her before letting her go to another person.

Amidst the exciting music, Chen Hui realized that she has been changed from person to person. After a while, she was almost dizzy. Fortunately, the Xi people were very disciplined. No one in the crowd took advantage of her, otherwise, she would’ve been furious.

Except for the person who took over her hand, everyone else danced with a strong sense of rhythm, but there was no standard way of dancing.

When Chen Hui was transferred to another person again, she was already thinking whether someone would find out if she slipped away like this. However, in the next second, that person suddenly pulled her closer and his face almost touched her ear, which was an overly intimate behavior that those people before him would never have done.

Chen Hui frowned when she heard the person whisper, “Lady Chen, I apologize for acting discourteously. I am sent by Lord Li to save Lady Chen.”

Chen Hui was dumbstruck and hurriedly looked at that person’s face. His appearance gradually became clear under the continuous light of the torch. Chen Hui recognized that he is Gu Tianhe and almost couldn’t help from crying out in surprise, but fortunately she held it back.

“How many people have come? How are you going to save me? Do I need to do anything to cooperate?” Chen Hui asked quickly.

Gu Tianhe wasn’t surprised by Chen Hui’s calmness. When she was taken hostage in Li residence, he already knew how calm she could be when she was in danger, otherwise, he wouldn’t have dared to come directly to her.

“I’m the only one who sneaked in,” Gu Tianhe said while he also turned Chen Hui as the others did. He hurriedly said, “Do they watch over you strictly?”

If it wasn’t strict, they might not be discovered until they have run a long way. If it was very strict, they would be found out before they have left here.

Chen Hui thought of princess Yatai. The excitement of learning that the rescuers have come has already cooled down. At this moment, she clearly realized that it was almost impossible for her to leave far enough before the Xi people found out that she has escaped.

After thinking about the pros and cons, Chen Hui said bitterly, “Strict…very strict. Sir Gu, it is better for you to go back first and tell Lord Li to investigate the reason the Xi people have declared war. From what I heard from the Xi people’s princess, they wanted to negotiate peace. You go let Lord Li take the initiative…”

Gu Tianhe was slightly startled. A pair of stretched hands that had been waiting for a long time took Chen Hui over.

Chen Hui turned her head, looked once at him and mouth “quickly leave” at him. To get in, Gu Tianhe had changed into the costume of a Xi warrior. His strong limbs were exposed and his hair was braided. This look was very awkward to Chen Hui who was used to seeing Gu Tianhe’s original adornment. He was not a real Xi person after all. The skin that was originally hidden under clothes was much more delicate than the Xi people who were always exposed to the wind and sun. There were also obvious differences in facial features. If it wasn’t for the night, he would’ve probably been exposed. Chen Hui didn’t want him to stay for long. If he stayed for a second more, there would be more risk of being discovered. She might still be fine by then, but Gu Tianhe would be in danger and she didn’t have any confidence to save him here.

Gu Tianhe looked at Chen Hui being taken further and further away. He slowly stepped back and merged into the crowd.

Chen Hui danced for an hour or two. Feeling that her legs were about to break, she struggled to break free and escape. Princess Yatai had been waiting aside for some time. Seeing Chen Hui come out, she beckoned at Chen Hui.

Chen Hui walked over and sat down on the ground beside her, looking exhausted.

Princess Yatai smiled and said, “I think you were born in the wrong ethnicity.”

Chen Hui cast her a sidelong glance. Knowing that princess Yatai was saying that she was more suitable as the Xi ethnicity than as someone from Great Liang, she nodded and said, “I think so too.” Wasn’t time-traveling being born for the second time? That she didn’t time-travel and turn into a Royal Princess or a Commandery Princess could be considered to be extremely tragic.
