Chapter 102 Those affairs of the court (1)

The luck of Chen Jing’s group was very bad.  There were more than a hundred wolves surrounding them. Such a large number of wolves were even rare for the Xiongnu who were used to seeing wild wolves. It could only be said that Chen Jing’s group was extremely unlucky.

Although, Chen Jing’s group also had about hundred people, but there was still a big gap compared to this pack of wolves. Not to mention that they still have someone ill here.

The tall and might leader of the wolves stood on the highland. The straight and powerful forelegs pulled its body upright. It looked arrogant and overbearing. Next to him was another wolf who was almost as sturdy as him, but it has the most ferocious and cold eyes.

The wolf stared at the soldiers who formed a formation in front of it with bloodthirsty eyes and then moved its gaze to Chen Jing. The moment the eyes of one human and one wolf met, sparks flew around. Both saw the cruelty and firmness in the opponent’s eyes.

The wolf withdrew its gaze, raised its head and howled a long and cautious howl while facing the dark night and the hazy round and bright moon.

At the camp of the northwest army, Lin Qing sat in Chen Jin’s tent with a sullen face. Chen Jin was sitting opposite of him and looked at him with some nervousness.

Because Chen Jin was in charge of the northwest, hence, Zhang Xin reported everything that had happened on the grassland with Lin Qing’s approval after they had returned. Only then did Chen Jin got to know that this person had such a fierce and valiant general as his subordinate. Also, that person was actually in his (CJ) army and a small soldier under him!

What exactly was going on? What exactly did Lin Qing want to do? Furthermore, he was holding information that he could use against him (CJ). The many uneasiness and questions made Chen Jin feel that his already white hair became even whiter.

Four thousand soldiers and horses dared to cross the grassland and wiped out several of the Xiongnu’s tribes. Furthermore, he broke into the Xiongnu camp single-handedly, rescued Lin Qing and the group of captured soldiers and caused the Xiongnu court to suffer a crushing defeat and suffer a disastrous loss. Such a person remained unknown as his subordinate’s soldier. Was that a good or bad thing?

However, whether it was a good or bad thing, as long as there was the great Buddha Lin Qing standing on top of his (CJ) head, he would not dare to do anything to that person named Zhao Zhong, not to mention that that person was really a talent.

Moreover, he (ZZ) had made a great contribution this time. Lin Qing would definitely take the initiative to ask credit for this person. Perhaps, in the future, he would occupy the entire northwest.

He (CJ) had already written a document about what had happened this time and sent it on a fast horse to the court. He believed that the court would make arrangements soon.

Chen Jin had a lot of thoughts. Lin Qing slowly said to him, “General Chen, could it be that you don’t know that your son went out of the border and haven’t returned? Also, could it be that you don’t know that your army missed people?”

Lin Qing’s questions were really unreasonable. Chen Jing had already explained to his subordinates before he took Ling Er to the grassland alone. If Chen Jin asked, he told his subordinates to say that he went to patrol on the border and doesn’t know when he would return.

That was even more the case for Zhao Zimu. She was originally just a small soldier. Was it necessary to alarm the biggest boss of the northwest when a small soldier was missing? What was more, the identity of this small soldier was mysterious. The commander of the troop of hundred didn’t have the guts to control her. How could Chen Jin know her whereabouts?

Chen Jin looked at Lin Qing silently and smiled bitterly, “Qiansui, that son of mine is accustomed to being fond of freedom. This old one never bothered about where he would go. Also, who are the people missing in our army that you mentioned about? Can you tell this old one directly? This old one really doesn’t know who Qiansui is talking about. The entire northwest is so big. This old one couldn’t be considerate of everything. This old one hopes that Qiansui will understand.”

Boom!

The teacup was slammed by Lin Qing that it was almost sent flying. A few pieces of tea leaves floated out.

“I don’t care about where your son goes, but he actually brought my people with him! Did he eat the guts of a leopard?!”

Chen Jin was dumbstruck for a moment and immediately felt that he had been struck by something. Lin Qing’s people had been taken away by his son. Why did this sound like something wrong?

Who was taken away? Male or female? Who was he/she to Lin Qing? Where are they now? These thoughts flashed quickly through Chen Jin’s mind. Chen Jin felt that he was almost going berserk because of these questions.

Originally, because of what had happened before, he felt unconsciously that he was below Lin Qing. Now that brat of his had done such a thing, making his spirits go crazy. Does that brat think that he lived too long?!

Chen Jin whose heart was roaring like thunder could only squeeze a smile that could be rated as a chrysanthemum to face Lin Qing, hoping that Lin Qing could give him some directions.

“You don’t know? He is your son and you don’t know?!” Lin Qing was also about to stomp. As soon as they came back, he discovered that a few of his subordinates were missing. That bastard Zhao Zimu also went to the grassland because of this reason. How could Lin Qing not be angry?

Lin Qing was very annoyed now. It would be fine if the one he loves was only good to him. He didn’t expect that she could also not want her life because of someone else. He had to admit that he was very upset now.

Moreover, Zhao Zimu had been running around the grassland for more than a half month because of him. After returning, she rushed to the most dangerous place without a good night’s of sleep. Does she really think that there is her home?!
