Many of you follow me because of my translations (which I love to do), but is there some of you who have ever wondered about me😋?
Probably not many lol.
When are you born?
I was born on 22-12-1993 in Guangdong, China. So currently I’m 22 years old. When I was 5, I moved to Curaçao and when I was 15, I moved to The Netherlands, where I’m also currently living.
What nationality do you consider yourself?
Both my parents are pure blood Chinese,so I’m Chinese. But I don’t consider myself a full Chinese. When I went to China on holiday, I couldn’ t get the people there. Their ways of thinking are so different from mine. But I also don’t consider myself a dutch cause at home I was raised as a Chinese. Westerners are more open and have other upbringing than mine. Although I can mix with them but I usually also can’t get them. Maybe I’m the 55% Chinese and 45% Westerner.
Are you currently single?
Hell yeah. Anyone interested😉?
Joking, I’m currently so busy that I don’t even have time for myself.
I’m interested in men, but sometimes I’ll catch myself staring at a beautiful woman😶, thinking about how attractive she is. Maybe deep in me, I also like women.
Do you have siblings?
A pain in the ass little brother.
Do you have pets?
I used to have two dogs and a cat at Curaçao. Now I don’t have any pets. I can’t even take care of myself.
What languages do you speak, write or read?
I can speak, write and read dutch, english and papiamentu (the language of Curaçao). I can write, read and understand Spanish, but I need to think long before I can speak a sentence. As for chinese, I can understand mandarin and cantonese, but I can’t read or write chinese.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, translating, listening to books, watching dramas,shopping,painting, doing cross stitch embroidery, , cooking and learning new things.
Yeah, I’ve too many hobbies.
What are your favorite colors?
When I was little, I liked yellow because of Sailor Moon. Her hair was yellow which I liked a lot. Now I like blue, black, white and red.
What was your dream?
My dream was to become a doctor but I didn’t get accepted at the University. Now my dream is just to finish my study and begin working.
Are you a morning or night person?
Definitely a night person. If I don’t have anything important to do, you won’t see me awake before 1 pm.
What are you most afraid of?
Insects. I’m even afraid of tiny spider. You’ll see me touching a tiger before you see me touching a bug.
What’s your most favorite food?
I don’t exactly have a favorite food. I eat everything. Most of the time I prefer asian food instead of european food. I don’t like things that are too sweet, so dessert at Starbucks is out of question for me. It has tons of sugar.
I also really likes cooking. If you have some recipe of yourselves please share with me. Experimenting in the kitchen is a fun thing.
What’s your most favorite drink?
Tea. I like all kinds of tea. Be it the normal teas (green, oolong,black and white), flower, fruit or herbal tea. I like them all. Longan mixed with chrysanthemum is one of my favorites. It helps you sleep well. I also like searching on internet about their benefits and side effects.
Cola and sprite were the only soft drinks I used to like, but as I’m getting older, I gradually stopped drinking soft drinks.
I also had an addiction to coffee, but now I exchanged it with teas.
Anything more you want to share?

What do we have in common?
Well I am also born in the same year, like to draw though I can’t paint, reading and of course watching dramas, sewing and I have done a little bit of cross stitching before. I also used to like the color yellow (because of power rangers 😜) now I’m more into blues n teal colors. I’m also a night person causing me to wake up later than the norm. I’m more nocturnal I guess 😆
Ive met my doppleganger XD. If there’s a chance i really want to meet you. I think we’ll have a lot to talk about

Hi Rosy! Thanks for the translations. Great to know more about you! Ahaha, we’re actually pretty similar. I’m also Chinese (Taiwanese to be exact) but grew up in HK/USA – hence, reading and writing Chinese is poor. Anyways, good luck with studies!

Thank you for sharing about yourself. Your cross stitch example is really beautiful. I also love to work with my hands–quilting. Unfortunately, I am not chinese or asian at all but became addicted to asian (Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Thai) dramas so I cannot watch dramas and sew since I have to read the subtitles. This has really interfered with my sewing because I love to listen to audiobooks or TV shows while I work. Thank you for your translations. Reading c-novels has taken precedence over watching dramas for me lately.

You look so young hahaha, and you know so many languages :O I can only manage English and minimal Chinese 😛 Seems like we have quite a lot in common. I love teas (and milo) too! Although I don’t like soft drinks… not even coke, I don’t like that bubbly taste lol. And I read lots of manga and novels + watch a lot of dramas, from Chinese dramas to Korean dramas (Descendants of the Sun, Come back Mister XD)
Looking young in western have quite side effects. While looking for a part time job, they always think I’m 15 or 16 :(. I’m also not that tall so I can never find a decent part time job.
I also like watching dramas but stopped now because the dramas have become boring. After watching so many they became so predicable. This year I only watched Signal and Mrs Cop.
I want to watch Mrs Cop 2 cuz Kim Bum is the villiam muahahaha
It’s not amazing drama but still good and funny. Better than Mrs Cop 1
But actually that’s almost the same amount of dramas as me? Since I have national exams, this year I only watched 2 dramas hahaha. I prefer reading than listening even though I understand audiobooks better than its written counterpart.

I dont download them, I use the wifi of the public transportation or my own internet if that of the public transpo is to slow. On ximalaya.com, you can’t download them. I tried to use the app but it doesn’t work.
I’m currently listening to 簪中录. Really good book. If I ever finish with demon wang and YR, I plan on translating it. But it may be after some years XD

So being a half Dutch asian person also living in the Netherlands I do get were you are coming from and totally agree with you as well (the Beautiful ladies,) cultural differences and also looking young while not being that young anymore. You telling about yourself made me respect you and connected to you, so thank you for sharing! So having read some of the reactions and your answers made me wonder about the following; Have you ever thought that you having a hard time finding work might be because of a cultural difference?
I dont think that it truly lie in the cultural difference, although it does play a role. My main problem is that I’ m very introvert and not so social. It’ difficult for me to get close to new people. It’s kinda strange. I talk like a parrot in front of my close friends but when meeting new people I barely speak two words. So, job interview is hell.
I’ m so jealous. People with mixed blood are so beautiful. Where part of asia are you?
Haha I do understand the perks of ones comfort zone :). My mixed blood is from a Chinese community in Indonesia. Which makes it hard to distinguish which part I am really from ^ ^. So in Dutch I would say dat ik half Indo-Chinees ben.

Sometime is true that its difficult to identify yourself. I dont feel chinese nor do i feel that im dutch. Im somewhere in between which makes it difficult to mix in.
I want to go sometime in de future to Indonesie. Ive never been there.
I actually have thought about what kind of person the translator is when I read their translation, surely they must be good people when they’re nice enough to share such good stuff with the rest of us haha. Thank you for letting us know a bit more about yourself. I’m very thankful that you post the translations snce I can’t read or write chinese and don’t understand the audiobooks completely. Some time ago, i tried to listen to Cuo Fei You Qing, but I couldnt get pass the intro. It was so sad. So I skipped some chapters and began to listen when he pressured her to make the antidote for his cefei. It was so sad that I just stopped listening. I may give it another try. But now I have midterms,s o taking a break from listening and reading books. Cause once I begin I can’t stop. Really like a drug

oh. it really will be kind of hard to translate while working and taking care of a child. Translating take quite a lot of time. Maybe in the future, when your child is older, you can try XD
