Chapter 27 Under the moon (1)

Chen Hui didn’t fear discussing sex-related knowledge with people. She felt that it was a kind of common sense that human beings should master. There was nothing to be shy about. She was also full of zest when discussing it with friends before. However, the situation was really different now. Her relationship with Li Youde was a bit awkward and more importantly…she once broke one! If she confessed, naturally, she had to confess that she had broken one.

“This Lady Chen…this Lady Chen also did some light reading,” Chen Hui said very slowly. “And know a bit.”

“Oh? Light reading, a very good light reading,” Li Youde looked like he was in high spirits. He was obviously smiling, but it made Chen Hui got goosebumps all over her body. “I don’t know that the content of the light reading that girls do contained this subject.”

Chen Hui thought, there are many things that you don’t know. The vastness of the internet is beyond your imagination!

“Just…just that…,” Chen Hui lowered her head. She turned her fingers and looked so ashamed as if she wished to dig a hole in the ground and burry herself in it.

“Hehe,” Li Youde laughed twice sinisterly. He seemed to be laughing at her, but he suddenly changed the conversation, “What else did you turn over in my room at that time?”

The most likely explanation that Chen Hui could know what Wang Youcai had sent over was that she turned over his things when she sneaked into Chrysanthemum Yard that night. Both of them know this point well.

Chen Hui looked up at Li Youde and said sincerely, “Lord, this Lady Chen didn’t turn over your things. That time, I only found out about the box at the end of the bed because I wanted to find some place to hide…”

Looking at Li Youde’s expression, Chen Hui said in a small voice, “Lord, there is one more thing that this Lady Chen had just remembered…”

“What?”

“…One of them had been accidentally broken by me.”

Li Youde’s expression showed a bit shock, “What did you do at that time?”

Chen Hui was embarrassed, “Lord, don’t look at me like that. I didn’t do anything! It was just that I had been frightened when someone suddenly came in and my hand slipped. It fell and broke…”

Li Youde showed suspicion and didn’t seem to have believed her explanation.

Chen Hui felt like crying. She was such a decent woman and had been misunderstood like this by someone, and it was by this exasperating eunuch. Actually, a misunderstanding was a small matter, if by chance after he had misunderstood, he felt, “Ah, since she is this kind of woman, he can happily amuse himself with her”.  What should she do then?!

“…Lord, are we still going to see those two shops?” Chen Hui really had no more explanation. So, she could only change the subject.

Li Youde comprehensibly twitched the corners of his mouth, “We are, how could we not go?” He turned his head and asked Chen Hui, “What did you fancy before?”

Chen Hui was dumbstruck and remembered that she was choosing jewelries. She quickly nodded and said, “I fancied a head ornament!”

Li Youde raised his chin and said, “Let the staff wrap it up. Let’s go.”

“Thank you, lord!” Chen Hui smiled sweetly at him. She felt that Li Youde looked really handsome at this time. Sure enough, money could reduce the aesthetic vision of others a lot.

After the staff had wrapped the head ornament and the hairpin that she chose for Xiao Tiao later, the two went out. The next stop was the bookshop. It wasn’t far from the House of Jewels, hence, they walked over.

Chen Hui followed Li Youde a step away. While waking, she looked around curiously. This was the fresh air of ancient times, this was the taste of freedom!

Li Youde suddenly asked, “Lady Chen, could it be that you have never stepped out of the house before?”

Chen Hui suddenly stopped looking around and said quick-wittedly, “I have gone out before, it was just that I didn’t go out often.” She also didn’t know about Lady Chen’s past, but saying this wouldn’t be wrong.

Li Youde humphed once. So, Chen Hui didn’t dare to look around anymore. His question was obviously to remind her to not act like a country bumpkin.

Soon, the two arrived at the entrance of the bookstore. Chen Hui looked up and saw the letters ‘Full of Hope Bookstore’ were carved on the plaque that hung above her head. Thinking that this would be hers in the future, Chen Hui was excited. She actually owned a bookstore!

There were only two attendants and a few men who looked like scholars in the store. Some people’s expression changed slightly when they saw Li Youde come in. They turned their head as if they seemed to be disgusted with something. There were also some people who were concentrating on the books on the shelf and didn’t notice this.

Chen Hui saw the reaction of the few people and looked at Li Youde again. She didn’t know if he had noticed them. She only saw that his expression was cold and solemn and looked like he was eminent and unapproachable.

She guessed that those scholars may not know who Li Youde is, but his identity had a unique aura. They didn’t know who he is, but they knew his identity. That was why they behaved like that. She thought of Wang Youcai who she had seen before. Not only did the two have similar aura, they also had the same white makeup on their faces. Perhaps, this was style that was popular in the palace now.

Although Chen Hui had always called Li Youde exasperating eunuch in her heart, but it was basically when he did bad things such as failing to keep his promises. These scholars obviously didn’t recognize Li Youde, but they disdained him just because of his identity…She looked at that calm appearance of Li Youde and felt a bit uncomfortable in the bottom of her heart. Perhaps, gifts blind the eye, he didn’t seem as annoying as before anymore.

Ah Da asked the attendant to call out the shopkeeper. When the shopkeeper heard that the boss had come, he immediately showed up and apologized repeatedly.

Li Youde said, “From today onwards, Lady Chen will be your new boss. I brough her today to get to know the place. From now one, be more careful. Don’t treat her as a fool.”

“Lord is right. This humble one will never dare to fool Lady Chen!” The shopkeeper with the surname Hu hurriedly said. How would he dare? What changing the boss? Was this bookstore still not held in Lord Li’s hands? Only if he didn’t want his life would he dare to have other thoughts.

“Good,” Li Youde nodded arrogantly. At this time, Ah Er suddenly came over and whispered a few words in his ear. His expression changed. The expression that originally could be considered amiable immediately turned cold. Suddenly, he turned around and walked in the direction of the exit. He just took two steps when he remembered that Chen Hui was still here. He turned and looked at her.

Chen Hui hurriedly said, “Lord, please go ahead if you have business to attend to. This Lady Chen will go back later by myself.”
