Feng shi and Li Xiaozhuang went out of the city in the carriage. Feng shi tightly hugged the baggage with the huge amount of money. She couldn’t keep herself from smiling while thinking about the bright future.

“The people in the carriage, get off!” A voice came from the outside that was not the coachmen’s. it was an unfamiliar and domineering voice, which made Feng shi and Li Xiaozhuang tremble.
“No, it wouldn’t be that we encountered robbers, right,” Feng shi panicked. She wouldn’t have been afraid of the robbers if they only had a few copper coins when they came from the capital. However, now she has so much wealth on her. How could she be willing to let it be robbed?!

The male voice could be heard outside again and the tone was more impatient. Li Xiaozhuang had no choice but to get out of the carriage tremblingly. Feng shi also followed him out of the carriage.
There were seven to eight masked men outside. The coachmen had withdrawn to a side and didn’t dare to utter a word.
“It is really hard to invite you out of the carriage. I thought you wanted me to say it for the third time!” The man said, “Be good, hand over all the money. I will spare your life, otherwise, hehe…”
“Master, I and my son are poor people who couldn’t even eat every meal. We really don’t have much money. Master, I beg you to let me and my son go!” Feng shi’s knees softened. She knelt on the ground and begged.
The man in the lead looked at the two of them carefully and said with a sneer, “Aren’t you well-dressed? Poor people, who are you lying to?! I will give you one chance. Hand over your money immediately or suffer!”
“No, no, master. These clothes have been stolen by us. We really don’t have money!” Feng shi quickly said.
The past few days, they ate well, drank well and had fun under Xiao Liu’s lead. They naturally also changed their tattered clothes. “Master, please spare my son. He really can’t stand beatings! Master!” Feng shi begged bitterly but the leader was unmoved.
After a long while, Li Xiaozhuang was beaten so badly that his nose was bruised and his face was swollen. The leader finally signaled for them to stop and they disappeared into the forest.
Feng shi hurriedly went to check her son’s injuries. She was slightly relieved when she saw that he was still able to stand up.
Feng shi mocked in a low voice, “Son, you didn’t suffer this beating in vain. They all looked smart, but they were as stupid as pigs. They didn’t even search the carriage and our money is still there!”
Li Xiaozhuang had a runny nose and tears were running down his face. his eyes were swollen and he could only open a crack. He grinned when he heard this and grimaced from pain. He looked so pitiful.
The coachman asked not far away, “Hey, I will be a good person and drive you back to the capital!”
“How will that do?!” Feng shi said immediately, “Our money is still here. Don’t be afraid that we won’t pay you the fare!”
Seeing that the coachman was still skeptical, Feng shi immediately said, “We will give you a deposit first!”
After Feng shi really gave the coachman the deposit did he agree to continue to take them out of the capital? Before leaving, he sighed, “It is so strange.
