Yun Ruo Xue saw that Yun Qian Meng spoke the meaning so clear, she also didn’t hide anymore. She let her gaze fall on the ground and nodded. But she instantly looked up and said embarrassed: “Big sister don’t misunderstand little sister! Little sister just thought that Gu Lao Tai Jun is also Ruo Xue’s maternal grandmother! When Xue er went there in the past, Lao Tai Jun treated me warmly! This is her sixtieth birthday, if Xue er doesn’t go, won’t I be criticized by outsiders? I ask big sister to allow little sister to be filial!”

  • Gu Lao Tai Jun is Yun Qian Meng’s maternal grandmother and also the mother of the empress dowager.
  • Er: term of endearment

While saying that, Yun Ruo Xue knelt again at Yun Qian Meng……

How could Yun Qian Meng just let her be like this? With this kneeling, if she doesn’t agree to it, Ruo Xue probably won’t get up. Then Su Qing will take this opportunity to create some troubles!

Yun Qian Meng gave Mu Chun and Mi mama a look. Both approached and blocked the two maids who were standing behind Yun Qian Meng.

  • Mu Chun is Yun Qian Meng’s personal maid.
  • 嬷嬷(mā mā): an old servant. Mostly they accompanied their master since birth.

Yun Qian Meng saw this and her expression showed that she was pondering about it. She held Ruo Xue’s arm and stopped her from kneeling. But Ruo Xue seemed to be determined and knelt more violent while she said: “Please allow!”

Seeing how she insisted, Yun Qian Meng’s heart felt tired, but she laughed: “Little sister is so sweet! If maternal grandmother knows, she’ll certainly be happy! No matter if little sister went or not, this sister will tell maternal grandmother little sister’s kind heart. Presumably she won’t blame you. So please little sister stand up. Don’t let the servants keep seeing this and think big sister is bullying little sister and thereby alienating our feelings of sisters!”

While saying that Yun Qian Meng put more force on her arms forcing Ruo Xue to stand up. Yun Ruo Xue was secretly surprised. How could the Yun Qian Meng who have lived like that have such strength? Because of the pain on her arms , she frowned. She was just about to open her mouth, when she saw that Mu Chun and Mi mama have crossed over her two maids. The two of them went to each side of her. She can only temporarily give up.

At this time Yun Ruo Xue’s face is full of grievances, but it didn’t seem to be because she couldn’t go to Lao Tao Jun’s birthday that she was sad.

Yun Qian Meng recovered her hands and leisurely sat down. Seeing Ruo Xue’s pitiful appearance, she sighed and said: “Little sister, why be like this? This siter has already said to (paternal) grandmother that you’ll attend the birthday, but the problem is Su concubine didn’t allow it. After all, Su concubine is little sister’s biological mother. Although she’s a servant, but little sister still has to be filial. If we go against Su concubine’s wishes, I fear that it won’t be good to little sister’s reputation!”

Having said that, Yun Qian Meng made a really “I can’t do anything” expression. One hand tapped on the table to express that she really couldn’t do anything.

When Yun Ruo Xue heard this, the hand wiping away the tears stopped.
Of course, she knew why her mother refused to let her go. It was just that yesterday she cried for a whole day, but Su Qing still didn’t let go. Then she came to Qi Luo Yuan to push her luck and see if Yun Qian Meng was willing to take her to Fu Guo Gong Fu. Otherwise with her hatred that was rooted to the bones for Yun Qian Meng, how could she forget her dignity to seek out this little slut without a mother?

  • Qi Luo Yuan is where Yun Qian Meng lives. It’s the place in the poorest state in the whole mansion of the prime minister.

Yun Qian Meng saw a float of emotions pass through Ruo Xue’s eyes and knew that Yun Ruo Xue must’ve met with rebuff at Su Qing’s. Then she must’ve set her eyes on her (YQM). Otherwise, with Yun Ruo Xue’s temper and her hate for her, presumably even if she was killed she won’t want to set one step in Qi Luo Yuan.

For the time being, the room was silent. Unhurriedly Yun Qian Meng drank tea. And Yun Ruo Xue was anxiously thinking about how she could get Yun Qian Meng to take her.

“Young miss, it’s time to go pay respect to old lady!”

At this time, Mi mama reminded Yun Qian Meng.

Mi mama didn’t want to see Yun Ruo Xue. in particular after this woman wanted to destroy her young miss’s innocence and now is so thick-skinned to come and beg young miss. Really shameless!

And after listening to what Yun Ruo Xue just said, it made Mi mama think why in this world there was such a person who was so thick-skinned!

Yun Ruo Xue’s maternal grandmother is the one of Su clan. That Gu Lao Tai Jun of Fu Guo Gong Fu is her young miss biological master grandmother. She had absolutely no relation with a concubine’s child, Yun Ruo Xue! But Yun Ruo Xue was making a relation out of it and called Lao Tai Jun her maternal. Really disgusting.

Comments:
Mi mama isn’t someone who followed YQM since she was little, but she was a maid of her mother’s. At first YQM didn’t trust her, but she showed that she is really loyal to YQM. She felt guilty because she abandoned YQM’s mom when she was nearly giving birth. She abandoned YQM’s mom because of something her son did. I think it was gambling.

  1. Sounds cool!
I am a little lost right now but I think I can follow it better after reading the the story more!
    Thanks for the update! 🙂
I am really really really excited about this novel!
Especially since you have such a great opinion of it! 🙂
Thanks again for the amazing work!

  2. So I gather you are translating Chu Wang Fei from chapter 55 onwards instead from beginning, right hence feeling the lost of the story???!!!!

    1. Yes because the early chapters arent exciting. They are just about YQM fighting with Su Qing. From 55 onwards the male lead will appear again. You may not get the story now, but I think after a few more chapters you’ll get it.
Tip: never read what they are talking literarily. It’s always words with hidden meaning. A double edged sword.

  3. Thanks a lot—-!
Hmph, that shameless girl! I wonder what will be the end of her? The banquet sounds like something that’ll be immensely interesting!

    1. when i went to china, i tasted them. When you bite them they are fresh in the mouth. I usually doesn’t like eating too much dessert, but i finished a whole plate of Mung bean cake

  4. Aaaah com’on. The last translator was doing such a great job at translating at the past tense. Please get yourself an editor, it’s a pain for the eyes to read when you just translate randomly

  5. Would be better without Chinese kinda the point of translating. Pretty much why I get bored reading those settings its always hard to follow
