Chapter 31 Reconciliation (2)

Chen Hui checked around the bed before she went to bed and fell asleep.

The next day, after Chen Hui had breakfast, she asked Xiao Wu to bring Li Sancai back. Originally, she wanted to let Xiao Wu sent Li Sancai there, but after another thought, she let Xiao Wu hold the cat and took Xiao Tiao to Rely Bamboo Pavilion.

Qingshu was very wary of Chen Hui’s arrival as if she was afraid that Chen Hui would harm her master.

Chen Hui said, “Lord asked me to come see Lady Jiang.”

Although, Li Youde didn’t explicitly say this, but…whatever, it is a fact that he let her send the cat over.

Qingshu was still a servant of Li residence after all. She didn’t have the guts to doubt Chen Hui’s nonsense way of passing Li Youde’s message. She could only aggrievedly let Chen Hui in.

Chen Hui let Xiao Tiao take the cat that Xiao Wu was holding and came to Lady Jiang’s boudoir under Qingshu’s unkind eyes.

The room was a bit dim and exuded a strong smell of Chinese medicine. Qingshu had come in first to give a reminder. So, Jiang Bihan was leaning against the bedside and calmly watched Chen Hui come in.

Chen Hui moved a stool on her own initiative and sat next to Jiang Bihan’s bed. Seeing that Jiang Bihan’s complexion was indeed not good, she thought that Jiang Bihan really fell ill and was not pretending.

Thinking of this, Chen Hui felt a bit apologetic in her heart.

“Lord Li said that it was rare for Lady Jiang to like something. So, Lady Jiang can keep this cat,” Chen Hui said.

Xiao Tiao approached a few steps with a bit of reluctance in her eyes.

Jiang Bihan looked at the three-striped cat and said nothing.

Chen Hui turned her head and said, “Xiao Tiao, let Qingshu take you to settle this cat.”

Xiao Tiao didn’t know if Chen Hui had something to say to Jiang Bihan in private, but since it was Chen Hui’s order, she held the cat and looked at Qingshu without saying anything.

Qingshu glanced at Jiang Bihan. Seeing that Jiang Bihan had no objection, so, she could only take Xiao Tiao out.

When the two left, Jiang Bihan said, “Lady Chen, you have something to say, right?”

Chen Hui said, “Lady Jiang doesn’t have to be so polite. Just call me Chen Hui. If Lady Jiang doesn’t mind, how about I also call you Bihan?”

Jiang Bihan didn’t respond. She lowered her eyes. Her gaze fell on the quilt. She was motionless like a statue.

Chen Hui didn’t mind and said easy-going, “Bihan, I apologize to you first. Don’t take the things I said yesterday to your heart. Those words were not my original intention.”

Jiang Bihan’s slender and pale fingers trembled slightly on the blanket.

Chen Hui looked at Jiang Bihan and sighed, “In fact, what I seek for is the same as you. It is just that I don’t have your good luck.”

Jiang Bihan glanced over. Her eyes flashed with cold anger, “What do you want to say?”

Chen Hui consciously felt that she had said something wrong. Being forced to join Jiaofang Shi was definitely not considered good luck.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean it,” Chen Hui hastily apologized, “I mean, let’s talk sincerely and fairly and then have a truce. What do you think?”

Chen Hui didn’t know what Li Youde meant before. That was why she wanted to use Jiang Bihan to help her get out, but since she had figured it out now, naturally there was no need to have trouble with Jiang Bihan. Anyway, she could pull down her face. She didn’t mind that she was the one to take the initiative to make a truce. She hoped that she and Jiang Bihan could mind their own business in the future. Otherwise, if Jiang Bihan felt inexplicably threatened and moved a tiny finger to destroy the balance, then what?

Jiang Bihan looked at Chen Hui in shock and her eyes gradually became wary, “What do you want?”

Chen Hui said, “I really don’t want anything…let me say something unpleasant to hear. You don’t want to come here. It is also the same for me. It is my father who has sold me that I had to rely on Li Youde to stay alive. You just want to be safe, how am I not? You are afraid that I will receive favor and affect your position, right?”

Jiang Bihan said nothing, but her face became paler.

Chen Hui guided patiently, “You are wrong about this. Ever since you came to Li residence, did Lord Li force you?”

Jiang Bihan’s eyes drooped slightly. No, Lord Li has never forced her. He was a gentleman in this respect, but aside from feeling lucky, she had never thought deeply about it.

Chen Hui said, “So you see, in fact, Lord Li doesn’t favor you in the way you think. Although, I don’t know the reason yet, but presumably, he is really not interested in women.”

Jiang Bihan finally spoke, “Really?”

“I also guessed it,” Chen Hui didn’t guarantee, “But think, two years. Lord Li is not a gentleman. If he is really interested in you in that respect, how could he still not do anything?”

Jiang Bihan had intended to turn a deaf ear to Chen Hui’s words and completely ignore them. However, as she listened, she also became serious and felt that the other party made sense. She couldn’t help but listen carefully.

“So, even if you don’t do anything, you don’t have to worry about your status being lowered,” Chen Hui said, “And you also don’t have to think of me as threat. Lord Li doesn’t want me in the way you think. He just thinks that I’m funny.”

“Funny?” Jiang Bihan looked startled.

Chen Hui tilted her head, poked the corner of her mouth with her index finger and said with a smile, “Don’t you think that I am funny like this?”

Judging from Jiang Bihan’s, she really didn’t think so.

Chen Hui also didn’t care and continued, “Lord just think that I am a novel thing. Tossing me around makes him happy, but other people doesn’t know this and think that he treats me special…it is indeed special. Particularly fun to play with.”

Jiang Bihan didn’t know how to respond to that. She knew that Lady Chen came from a merchant family, but she didn’t expect that she could be so coarse when she spoke…She somewhat couldn’t listen to it anymore.

Jiang Bihan looked at Chen Hui, but didn’t stop her from continuing.

Chen Hui didn’t continue to mention how Li Youde ‘played’ with her. The past was too unbearable to look back. She shouldn’t publicize her dark history everywhere, unless there was a great advantage.
