The cold days were coming and I needed a new cream for my face. One day, while searching randomly on internet, saw a video on YouTube about the Simple creams. Before that, I never heard about the brand. It turned out to be number 1 brand in UK.  After reading and watching about the hype of the Simple line, I decided to try it out. Another factor that played a role was also that the store gave a fifty percent discount. I bought the night cream. I also wanted to buy the face wash, but it wasn’t deliverable. I was too lazy to go to the store, so I just bought the night cream.

Package

It came in a box with a green and white jar inside. I like jars, although it’s not so hygienic. The packaging was really simple. Nothing too extravagant. I like it.

Fragrance

The cream had a strange smell. I don’t know how to describe it, but it was like something from a pharmacy. The smell didn’t bother me that much and it goes away pretty fast.

Texture

The cream is not light nor heavy. It’s a bit thicker than the Clinique moisture surge cream I’ve been using in the summer. Now, in autumn, the Clinique one is too thin for my face. When I wake up, my nose would be scalding. With the Simple one, I didn’t have that. It keeps my skin very well hydrated throughout the night. The texture is right for autumn, but I think for my skin, it would be too thin for in winter. I need a thicker cream in the winter.

The cream absorbs fast into the skin, but I will feel a stickiness on my face. However, if you don’t touch your face, you won’t feel it.

Ingredients

The main ingredients are

  • Pro-Vitamin B5: hydrates, soothe, heal and regenerate the skin
  • Vitamin E: blocks radicals
  • Vitamin F: maintenance of healthy skin
  • Glycerin: moisturizer
  • Allantoin: protects skin and promote healthy skin
  • Bisabolol: increase penetration power of the cream, anti-irritant and anti-microbial

Price

A cheap cream for me is from 0-10. Average 10-20. Above 20, it’s an expensive cream. This one’s full price was €9.99. I got it for €5. To be honest, it’s one of the cheapest cream I’ve ever used. I may eat cheaply, dress cheaply and do everything cheaply, but what I apply on my face is a another story. But after I paid my college tuition, I was on a budget. So, I tried to slow down on my expenses and it’s never a bad idea to try affordable things that are as good as the expensive ones.

Review

After using it for about a week, I’m quite satisfied. It didn’t blow my mind. I was just looking for a cream to let my face stay hydrated. This cream did it.  There are better creams, but for this price, it’s hard to come by. I plan on using this till the winter and then go for a thicker cream. I may buy it for spring again.  4/5 stars

  1. I love this night cream. I also love the fact that I can put it on my lips and it doesn’t give me the icky non-absorbent feeling. Sadly, they discontinued the product here in the U.S. several years ago. I however still yearn for it, but will probably order it online one day. Glad you liked it.
